That's a ridiculous distinction

It would seem to dictate - for instance - that there would be some substantial difference if I responded to this post by saying "that's stupid", as opposed to saying "that seems stupid". and there's clearly not.

Both are my opinion and nothing more, both are obviously my opinion and nothing more, and hedging it by saying "it's my opinion that --" makes no difference at all
