I agree that they're all ugly, and that there is more than a hint of hypocrisy with such criticisms. For the sake of the argument, though, when one race has historically been held up as a beauty ideal in many places or cultures while the appearance (among other things) of other races have frequently been insulted, it doesn't have quite the same connotation or impact and so does not necessarily indicate people are trying to have it both ways.
