Sorry, I'm having a bad day

I feel like I really wrote this but I know someone else did.

Talk to strangers.
Use the phone without mental preparation.

Eat and drink. I have to psyche myself up before even taking a sip of something because the odds are pretty good that either it won't go all the way down or it'll get there but cause my internal organs to seize up for hours.

Even before it got this bad I've never understood how people eat for enjoyment. It's always been an unpleasant chore for me that I just am forced to do to stay alive.

I'm sorry it's unpleasant for you.

Being able to tell the year, make, and model of a car. I can tell you the color and if it is a truck/SUV/car. That's it.

Chopsticks.

Talking on the phone.

Same to the first one- my roommate and her friends are mechanics by trade, and driving around town with one of them as a passenger pointing out interesting cars is akin to being taken on a tour through a museum

My dad can tell the make/model/year of a car by the friggin' bumper. It is like magic.

hold down a job and pay their own rent and shit like that

Play piano. Not have anxiety, lol.

Visualizing numbers in their minds, and being able to do somewhat complicated math with those numbers. I wouldn't say I have dyscalculia, exactly, as I can make change as a chashier pretty promptly and generally understand how numbers work and what I ought to be making them do...but good god, I can't do it just with my noggin

Watching live-action TV/movies without getting confused about who’s who. I’m a prosopagnosiac. I think in one way I’m actually better off because I don’t recognize actors, so I can just see their characters without getting distracted by knowing who else they play. If I noticed “oh hey, that’s so-and-so”, my immersion would be ruined. But if two characters who aren’t constantly on screen look or dress even remotely alike, god help me.

I don't understand retain workers who seem to genuinely enjoy working with the public. I worked retail for a year and it was hell on earth, how anyone can smile and be friendly for 40+ hours a week around total strangers, many of whom are total assholes, never mind all the other chaos involved with cashiering in general, just blows my mind.

god, this. I've done my time in retail and I just can't fathom the people who like it and can do it for 20 years without ever needing a break.

It honestly really depends on the type of customers you get. I've had retail jobs where the regulars were great people and I loved getting the chance to chat with them because they were always friendly. I've had other jobs where it seemed like 80% of the people who came in were jerks.

Does fast food and waitressing count? It's not retail, but is working with the public, so I'm not sure if it counts under this heading. If so, I am one of those people. Honestly, most people are fine, in my experience. They just want the service you're offering them, and they want to feel like you care about doing a decent job for them. In my experience, even when I failed to do a good job for them, as long as I was sincerely apologetic, they were almost always forgiving.

Maybe customers in retail jobs are worse? IDK.

Play certain games. Not sure if it's a medical condition or what but I have the hardest time playing any 3D action games. 2D is "just ok" but 3D? I vividly recall giving up on Kingdom Hearts (the one game I got a PS2 to play) because of it. I just COULDN'T. Also, giving up on DMC after getting killed by the very first skeleton. And some 3D MMOs my friends would play together were a no-no for me, and I know I'm particularly bad at it because they couldn't believe that I knew all about the lore, items, etc. but still couldn't complete a mission. Nowadays I own a PS4 but I don't even bother with action games anymore w. My eyes/hand coordination is so bad when it comes to 3D games I just can't follow and I feel anxious and shaky and drop the controller and it's all very ugly.

Work in retail for sure. Sorry I don't like people ... actually, make friends, engage in fandom or anything else that requires human contact too.

Binge-watch stuff. Even if it's very interesting I'm not one to binge-watch, I get tired quickly. Binge-read, though? Count on me.

Draw stuff. I studied drawing and still can't draw as nicely as most 14 year olds I see on Twitter and it's very sad because I've always actively wanted and tried to draw at least reasonably well. Eeh. Similarly, some people are good at designing layouts and such. I used enjoy prettifying my online presence and getting praised for it but I've had a sort of "art block" for over a decade now. I recall being infatuated with someone who was great and loving their creations made me feel so bad about mine that since then I just suck at anything.
