Or she didn't know. Why should AH be omniscient? On a different scale entirely, but nobody expected the other Lost Prophets members to know what was going on, and they were all best mates.

I have seen in action how people like Joss Whedon will be very careful in keeping their shitty behaviour from the people who aren't their victims.

I don't know what you've seen personally, but from everything people have heard about Whedon and his buffy set, he personally was not trying to keep his shittiness hidden on that set (or the JL set). And AH very much liked the type of shittiness he promoted because she benefited. Like, of the things we the pubic have heard before Charisma said anything...those are the two things. So, there's no reason to believe she was either omniscient or ignorant.
