Most of the comments I've seen have been very "why are we making her good" and like N O T H I N G in the trailer made me think that so I think this is disney's "woke for kids, but not really" rep and people thinking the protagonist has to be good, also because of disney's rep.

to me the trailer was like "she's come out of a terrible environment with terrible morals and she's gonna use them on these other terrible people for power with maybe one character who she's close to going 'no don't be terrible that's terrible' until she just goes for evil" and that sounds like a lot of fun! You get the "oh yeah I can root for no one and everyone" and also "I'm so glad she gets destroyed in the next sequential movie"

for what's it's worth, OG Cruella really WAS about that girlboss shit. Her objection to Anita getting married was that she believed a man would ruin Anita's genius. So....idk what to tell people. Cruella was feminist for power and capitalism before it was cool.
