(Anonymous) 2021-03-02 12:36 am (UTC)(link)I spilled about 6-8oz of the stuff today, not even syrup yet, maybe halfway between raw sap and syrup. And just getting that much on my hands, oven, floor (which meant on my feet) ruined the rest of my day.
You do not want to be submerged in syrup. Trust me. You don't even want to have it spill on you. (Unless you're into that and doing something fun. <3)

(Anonymous) 2021-03-02 12:56 am (UTC)(link)Heh, one day some years ago I was going to my brother's place in a similarly suburban neighborhood to mine, and his neighbors had buckets hanging off the tree in their yard and I was puzzled before I remembered there was a reason someone might do that at that time of year. "But you can't do that in a suburban neighborhood, can you?" Googled, and... turns out you can! But it sure would be easier if I had large vats and an outdoor sugar shack.
