Because I don't see how being the "prettiest girl in fandom" makes one somehow better than everyone else. I mean, what are you worried about? What the fandom might think of you? Does it really matter? It's just a fandom. The internet. Nearly all the people in a fandom you'll never meet in real life anyway, so I don't understand why someone could feel self-conscious about themselves because of the fandom. It's kind of sad, in a way.

I see how it can be wank-worthy. Some fandoms are intimidating, to say the least, and I've felt that way sometimes, I'll admit. I usually try and convince myself otherwise though.
