I started watching Angel when it premiered with a very limited knowledge off Buffy before that point, then started watching Buffy from that point onward and never bothered looking for a way to watch the earlier seasons. I was aware of what kind of character Cordelia had been, but never actually saw it, so I always liked the character (until things went of the rails, yeah).
