I’m trying to find out what tv series/film I saw a scene from some years back because it’s been haunting me. Is there a good place for asking about things like that?

Commenting in a reply with the scene - it involves implied accidental death.

(It was a scene from a house party with a lot of older teens/early 20-somethings, where a group of young men walk onto a balcony. Then the camera focuses on a young woman’s head in the foreground inside an adjacent room, but in the background through the doors, you see the balcony collapse out-of-focus and in slow-mo, and all the young men falling. It then changes to a shot from the outside showing them falling, still in slow-no. The shots are very softly color-filtered - I feel like it went from pink/yellow to blue.)

Hmm, maybe CSI:Miami? Kinda sounds like it, just going off the description.

ayrt - from what I know of CSI:Miami, definitely not as bombastic or lurid! It was pretty solemn, no fast cuts or driving music at all. Maybe closer to a "this is going to deeply affect the young woman's life" feeling. Thanks, though - I realize that that wasn't clear from the description.

I’m realizing more about what to add if I ask on that subreddit - the party was slightly more, hm, buttoned-up in tone? Like the people involved might be drinking regardless of age but no one’s getting really rowdy or making out in front of other people. Also the house/apartment and clothes looked like upper-middle class up.

I know there was a porch collapse during a party scene in an ep of CSI:New York but it did not have the visuals you described.

No problem! I was surprised by the number I found (and also by how often it has happened in real life, which, yikes). I was looking for one that I vaguely remembered, but couldn't easily find clips for the relevant scenes, so I have no idea which one it is or if it is any of these.
