Got around 2 hours of sleep last night, so really exhausted. But I managed to get 12 job applications done today plus a couple hours of work, so pretty happy about that. Now I'm playing around with my flight rising account, waiting for dinner. Will go to bed after dinner.

Mixed bag! I went through all the stages of grief with several internet forums as we got spoilers for the last Rebuild of Evangelion movie, and I found out my more sane (though still awful) senator is retiring and one of the guys wanting to fill is spot is our former governor who is a rapist... but I'm feeling cute today? Yeah, mixed bag.

I've been dealing with a headache on and off for like 2 weeks. It keeps trying to turn into a migraine. Trying to decide at what point I visit a doctor.

Ugh, sorry, headaches are the worst. I hope you feel better soon.

As soon as possible. A persistent headache like that means there's something wrong, and while it's frequently something simple like your glasses prescription needs updating or your posture's jacked up your neck and is causing headaches, it's better to get checked out sooner rather than later in case it's serious/the precursor to something serious.

Started off the day okay, then got hit with... confusing shit, which delayed other shit I should have been doing, but because I hate wasting time of other people by asking stupid shit, I put it off until the afternoon, which of course was a BRILLIANT idea *eyeroll*

Well, in the end, I didn't get everything I needed to get done, but the stress level dropped after a while. I hope to do better tomorrow. Currently finishing dinner with much deserved wine.

So much GI pain and pressure I haven't been able to eat and only barely able to make myself drink, for the last two days. It sucks. At least my bunny with similar issues started feeling better last night and she's acting normal now.

At least my job was easy today, since most of my department were stuck in meetings I was not part of, and I could make it out of bed (if dizzily) enough to empty the sap jugs on the trees. They were overflowing when I woke up. (47 gallons of sap collected in about two weeks, I'm going to have well over a gallon of syrup to give to friends/sell/whatever if I can actually finish the processing.)

Do you think it's covid, anon? It does seem to be able to cross the species barrier into pets.

Definitely not. Not only is this just my usual state ramped up worse than usual for longer than usual, I've been self-isolating for the most part since the news reports started coming out of China last January. Seemed logical since just the regular flu almost killed me two years ago (still suffering lingering effects). Haven't been inside an enclosed area where other people have gone (or animals other than my indoor pets) since I think late October, haven't been within ten feet of anyone even outside except my dad dropping off/picking stuff up since mid-November.

Well, until this weekend when the "crazy" old lady who dances and sings around the park in my neighborhood was out there when I went over to do a raid, and I hadn't seen her all winter and I'm one of the few people who talks to her instead of avoiding her and she wanted a hug. She's in her 80s and has survived heart surgery that briefly killed her, I've not been anywhere near other people, I gave her a hug. =)

So unless she somehow had asymptomatic covid and I developed symptoms super fast, chances are pretty slim there's any covid in my house.

Thanks. =) Bun is doing much better, about 24 hours ago I finally saw her nibbling a little basil and I was prepared to just give her the rest of the plant if that was all she'd eat. But fortunately she ate the rest of her dinner overnight, and she's popping up by the gate now demanding tonight's dinner. ;) (They definitely have their internal clocks set...)

Cramping like hell, shower is in need of fixing because most of the seal has gone round the sides and the mice found another way into the house.

But on the plus side I found a cute glittery emerald green nail polish while sorting through my room and just painted it on while watching Kenny Lauderdale videos.

I really need to get on with some studying - I signed up for a single unit of online study, thinking that would be well within my capabilities, and it's so stressful. I'm not used to online study, it's really hard for me to ask questions I need to ask, and I just... this is a lot harder than I expected.
Oh, and I'm about to start five week of unpaid work because of something I agreed to in 2019. But they might offer me a job at the end of it! No promises at all, and I honestly super doubt it, but hey!

...and I'm out of antidepressants.

A very silly complaint, but I'm bummed that there have been a few days in a row where I don't have anything to say about the secrets. And I'm still waiting to see any of my secrets this week. Hoping they're not all stuck on the same day or two like last week.

Nah. I sometimes feel this way and just don't participate some days. Or I'll just hang out in GC.

My best friend is FURIOUS with me because I left my room to go downstairs and eat dinner with my two new roommates (who I had never met) and their two friends. Because apparently I'm not taking Covid seriously by eating with "strangers" because "unmasked eating" is one of the "number one spreaders" and despite that I just had Covid two months ago, I'm still not safe because there are "new strains EVERYWHERE"!!!

So they aren't speaking to me even though we had plans tonight (online). Because I'm a terrible person who is helping to spread Covid without caring at all??

Hard for me to comment. Where I am at the moment, infection rates are really high and everything you did would have been illegal. So yeah kinda siding with your friend on this one. Then again, maybe it's a different situation and rules where you are.

It's not illegal to eat with people in your own home here, even of two of those people live two roads down. Most of our city has opened back up anyway. Our infection rates are down and the vaccine is being delivered pretty reliably.

Yeah, I get that you're pissed and maybe you feel like what you do isn't any of your friend's business. And I think everyone is picking their own risks these days, depending on what matters the most to you and keeps you sane. Plus, it all depends on how bad infection rates are in your area.

I'd also say that it's possible your *best friend* is at least somewhat anxious/worried about your safety and transferring that into anger.

Unlike the above anon, that wouldn't be illegal here, but people I know are definitely doing their best not to eat in enclosed spaces with people not in their household. And it doesn't matter if those other people are "strangers" or friends of friends. Plus, the evidence seems to suggest that having had Covid (even recently) doesn't necessarily keep you from getting it again.

No I don't think you need to retract this at all.

It just never feels like they're coming from a position of "I love you and I'm scared" but as a position of like "You're bad and wrong and I'm unhappy you would be this kind of person" (almost verbatim that last part)

I just didn't even think of Covid at all. It didn't even come into my mind. I had ordered food, went down to get it, and they offered me to join them. I just accepted and ate, not thinking it was anything until I was talking to my friend later and they were like "I can't even speak to you because you're not the person I thought you were." (actual quote) because I didn't remember Covid when meeting new people.

We're coming out of a pretty terrifying situation. People are going to take varying lengths of time to feel comfortable with normal again, if ever. And it's not as if the virus has even gone away or that the vaccine offers full protection. I'm still scared as hell of it. I've already had it once and it's destroyed my life. I don't want it again.

But i've made my peace with the fact that everyone will see me as an acceptable casualty of getting back to normal.

Sorry, i'm rambling, my point is in general don't be too harsh on your friend, even if she hasn't dealt with this too well. This is an unprecedented situation in our life time and we're all dealing with it in different ways.
