and like an idiot I tried to copy the kanji off the image to put in my search lmao. thanks OP this is my jam and I need tags to follow.

Google translate has a draw function that allows you to draw in kanji. It takes multiple attempts sometimes to get google to suggest the right one, but i've found it the easiest way to copy kanji from picture format to text format. :)

I'm learning Mandarin at the moment and it's a real headtrip to see how close some of the meanings are between some hanzi and some kanji. I know that Japan used hanzi as a working basis for kanji but still... headtrip.

I can speak basic Japanese and this is how I feel too. Sometimes I'm watching a movie set in Chinatown or something with my family and they ask what's that sign? so I make a wild guess and more often than not I'm right and they're shocked.
