Re: Underrated Twilight Zone episodes?

"Five Characters in Search of an Exit" is a good one, though the twist unfortunately feels rather trite today (it was probably better when it originally aired). "Walking Distance" is one of my favorites, since I'm a sucker for time travel stories.

I'm also going to shout out The Outer Limits, which was another anthology series from a similar time period that focused more on sci fi than horror/suspense. I'd especially recommend “Demon With a Glass Hand” (written by Golden Age of Sci Fi legend Harlan Ellison), “The Architects of Fear” (which is like the Ozymandias plotline from Watchmen taken up a few notches), and “The Zanti Misfits” (an amazingly chilling plot if you can get past the alien effects, which are right out of a lesser Classic Who episode). As you might be able to tell, I'm a little bit more of a fan of TOL than TZ lol

DA

Five Characters in Search of an Exit is among one of the best pieces of media ever. Very haunting and sticks in the back of the mind for years.

I love that one. The twist really surprised me. I think it's meant to be hopeful, but I feel like that's going to be a huge existential crisis for the characters.
