Well, damn, OP. Now you've got ME curious about that.

(Anonymous) 2021-03-18 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well crap, now I wonder about this, too...

Yooooo centaurs breaking each other's legs would be brutal, I'm here for it.

Legit, that was the one that made me gasp/go "DAMN! THAT'S CRUEL!"...like once a horse's legs are broken...damn!

It’s been a long while since I’ve seen the movie, but is it clear what Little Mermaid’s Ursula did to get banished? She cursed a lot of mermaids but presumably no one knew about her cave of them (or didn’t care, I guess mermaids don’t have censuses or cops or stable social connections). So I figure she did something blatant trying to get Triton’s trident, maybe involving more undersea predators.

well how much "sentience" are we applying here? the concept of territory doesn't necessarily imply the wherewithal to conceive of war, you know? in other words, yes I would also like to know that, and I would like to know which creatures think the others are pets or weapons.

I think you could cultivate a wide fallowing just by trying to answer that question.

Chronicles of Cavallon, a middle-school-ish book series by Kim Forester is about centaurs, pegasos, unicorns and water horses warring against each other. There are humans too, but they're like 1/5 of the POVs. I've only leafed through the first book so IDK how much violence there is.

Look up Dragoncharm by Graham Edwards. Completely non-human storyline about wars between dragons. Actually, this makes me want to re-read them.
