Okay, if it's tagged, I have no issue, but if it just pops up like "this is the head canon we're going with" I have to drop the fic -- anxiety. Or any other mental health issues/any major changes to their personality, physicality, or history. I have no problem if the character deals with it in canon, if you tag it, if you mention it in your summary, it's fine. I know what I'm looking for in a fic, and if you're not bringing it, I'll move along (even if the premise is cute). But, I started reading one fic where both of the characters do not have anxiety (a completely different character in canon does, however) and suddenly, as they're exchanging DMs (ugh) they bring up how they deal with it, etc. And I'm like...since when? Lol I'm not against people making head canons, I just would like to avoid the ones I'm not interested in reading about!

Also, choppy pacing that has no art or grace to it. I'm not asking for Hemingway (who I'm not much of a fan), but come on. It's like a step between an "imagine" post and a story. So...credit for trying? Keep at it!

Also -- if I see too much of the author and not enough of the characters -- like of course X likes coffee and corn muffins. But not blueberry, he has an allergy/it reminds him of blah blah blah. He HATES blueberries. No canonical support. Straight up your text change with a fellow fan as y'all imagined X eating and disliking blueberries, or perhaps your own projection toward the fruit.

But I feel kinda bad for complaining, lol. People are just out here trying to have a good time.
