I used to be heavily into Lolita when I was an older teenager with my then-best friend (who is still doing Lolita despite being 34). It was pretty and flouncy and FUN. (I was a Goth in high school, only wearing black, fishnets, dying my hair wild colours, drawing on my skin with markers, the whole nine yards. But then I just wanted to be 'pretty' so I was drawn to Lolita. I still have some of my outfits I made and I wear parts of them with regular clothing and get compliments on them so idk (like a flouncy, petticoat-underneath skirt with a normal black top). I ruled the Gothic Kids Group in high school but in Lolita-land I was nobody. It was kind of a relief tbh.
