Ah, how well I remember the fic on Library of Moria where male elves conceived and gave birth through their armpits. Good times good times.

LoM had a lot of amazing crack like that, all the more amazing because it was all written completely in earnest. There was some absolute gold on there.

The best out there fic I ever read was on LoM. In it Middle Earth was real and all of the characters had lived once on Earth. Aragon and Legolas lived just long enough to tell their story to one JRR Tolkien who handily wrote it all up as a few novels.

After the Middle Earthlings died, they were all reincarnated... as the actors who went on to play them in the LOTR movies.

Fast forward to after the success of the LOTR movies, and the cast are busy filming the follow up LOTR TV show. In particular, the episode where Legolas's uncle beats him up. Because obviously?

Anyway they all then start turning back into their Middle Earthling selves, so Viggo M suddenly realised he's Aragon, etc.

Then there's a quest and at one point they put a bridle on a ring wraith and ride it to Mount Doom.

It was top tier stuff, and I'm not being sarcastic. This author had taken this premise and run with it. Okay so they'd made a few stops at crazy town but the passion with which it was written came through.

It was also hilarious, unintentionally. So I feel bad about that but my admiration is sincere. That's I miss about fic from that time. Imagination coupled with passion and maybe occasionally bizarreness.

AYRT I wish I could! That's pretty much the extent of my memory of that story. I only remember that much because it assumed legendary status amongst me and my friends at the time. Don't even remember the title now!

The armpit one I remember a little about. So in it female elves were infertile, it was only some of the blond male elves that could conceive (through their armpits, which is also where they carried the baby and gave birth out of lolol). I think the fertile elves had star shaped birthmarks or something? Lol. Anyway, they were constantly being pursued both by brunet male elves and humans for their 'legendary beauty'. Lmao.

I remember Legolas and Haldir were in some sort of peril and on the run, and Aragon saved them and naturally he and Legolas then hooked up.

That's all I've got I'm afraid. Maybe I'll have to see if LoM is still around and trawl for my old favorites. XD

SA I should point out that you had to look for this stuff. There was a lot of fire fic on there too, as with every archive. I don't want people to think it's wall to wall beautiful crack.
