I saw Wolf’s Rain when I was the same age as you and what happened to Toboe destroyed me. I just wasn’t expecting it because all the anime I’d seen up to that point always had the good guys win no matter what, but Wolf’s Rain isn’t that kind of show. It’s a wonderful anime and I’ve rewatched it a few times, but that episode and all the ones after are brutal and still make me cry.
