I get a lot of music from Youtube because I have an app on my computer that turns youtube vids into mp3s.

What's the app, anon?

similarly I discovered so much good music (mostly synthpop, ambient mood techno, modern house, and dubstep-adjacent) from cosplay music videos. some of the best ones use independent artists and it makes me happy to find excellent music and also support an indie on bandcamp or soundcloud.

Same, tbh. I hate listening to the radio because of ads (and radio-like apps for the same reason), so usually my only exposure to new things is secondhand, and fandom content is extra good for that because then I have a new song I like and I can relate it to something else I already like. Win-win.
