I can't stand first person in fanfic. In published work, I'm still leery. If done well, it can be amazing, but it's rarely done well.

To me, first person is the laziest point of view--everyone knows what it sounds like inside their own head, so it's easy to write from there. But it's also the hardest to really pull off and get that deep into a *character's* head.
