"where real life minors are being sexualized"

Oh how I wish this were true. But every day, multiple times, you'll find antis piling on someone to commit suicide because they sexualized an anime character.

That's absolutely disgusting, but you'd be surprised at the number of adults in fandom who defend their right to comment on how hot they find a thought of a knot going up a child celebrity's butt out in a public space, without facing any judgement for it whatsoever. The idea that not every thought, which passes through their head, deserves to be aired to everyone in fandom, and that some stuff could be kept in locked communities, or shared only with a handful of trusted friends, is apparently beyond their comprehension.

Personally, I blame it on the fact that nowadays most fandom activities are in places like tumblr or twitter, where everyone is up in each others face. Back when fandom was mostly in livejournal communities, the SFW and NSFW spaces were mostly separate. You didn't have to scroll past images of someone's bestiality fetish when browsing through the main tag for a children's cartoon.
