They could do both, though? I mean - it's still (hopefully) gonna be clever kids surviving in Edwardian London, but they'll also be finding out about supernatural stuff.

That's one of the few superficial similarities. But if OP wanted the Baker Street Irregulars from the ACD stories, that's not what they'll be getting with this show.

I don't have to eat a pizza with olives on it to know whether or not I'll like it, because I already know I dislike olives. So it'd be silly to tell me to wait until I eat a slice and reserve judgment. If someone dislikes the supernatural element and we already know the show has a supernatural element...
