As someone mentioned above, that's far more in line with ANY child who has had to take on the responsibility of parenting not only themselves but a younger sibling, in addition to overcompensating gender roles (Dean's gotta be "man's man" like his daddy, because his father is the "protector" and "warrior", strong and etc, I mean half of this show is just Dean being a little boy whose father never hugged him, acknowledged him, and expressed/communicated his love in a healthy way).
