Re: What book, movie, show, band, franchise, fandom, et cetera changed your life for the better?

Kae Tempest, "Let them Eat Chaos" has some of the best description of intrusive traumatic thoughts I've ever heard.

Neil Gaiman, "Sandman" A fucking brilliant comic run that spoiled me on mainstream supehero comics. Some of the first friendly LGBTQ representation I encountered (and for context, both DC and Marvel had entire imprints dedicated to keeping the gay away from their mainstream lines). Inspired my goth phase.

"Torch Song Trilogy," My not-yet-out gay roommate was obsessed with it. A bit biphobic but Firestein's "respect" monologue in Act III is still a classic.

"Star Trek," 40-odd years and still going to watch every episode.
