Guillermo Del Toro's work wound up PROFOUNDLY bettering my life.

David Bowie, huge impact. Also Queen, Jim Steinman, The Magnetic Fields, Cole Porter, and Gilbert and Sullivan. Yeah it... it got a little eclectic there.

The MCU, in a roundabout way, gave me one of my best friends, which is funny because it's not actually something either of us is super big into, it was just the point of introduction from which we spent the next couple of years throwing 'I can't believe you also like (X)' at each other over... everything.

Books: Good Omens, The Left Hand of Darkness, Watership Down, The Picture of Dorian Gray, various Stephen King works, the Sherlock Holmes canon, PG Wodehouse, Ray Bradbury, Poe...

And... also Mystery Science Theater 3000 and D&D were enormous friendship-cementing things.
