It says online that all her outfits in the show are either bespoke or vintage clothing from 'costume archives'. It's possible the white coat was a vintage piece that they weren't allowed to alter or tailor in any way.

oh wow yeah, if it was a vintage piece from an archive, they would not have been allowed to alter it at all, which explains the fitting.

but if it's bespoke then I have a tailor I need to go smack for not tailoring it right!

I know nothing about tailoring, so it didn't jump out at me as 'ill fitting' - it's a coat, she's tiny, i figured it was just big.

I love her outfits, the dresses in the last few eps in particular are just so damn *awesome*. Exactly the kind of dress I couldn't pull off to save my life, heh, but I appreciate them.

Wow, you'd think that for such an important outfit, if they really loved that coat they'd recreate it with a better fit.

Sometimes it's just not worth the money to do that. A lot of fashion recreation involves massive research, manhours, and specialized tools.
