Is this the one where the villain is called the darkling or something cuz there's about a 0% chance I'm gonna be able to take that seriously

That's his title in the books (and IMO, it works), but I don't think they're doing that in the adaptation.

Small spoilers for someone just at the very beginning of this book.







Yes, he's called the Darkling. I think it means he's a summoner of things dark (I'm in the first few chapters). He's also not currently the villain?

And I honestly thought they were endgame. Kind of like how, in Hunger Games, they set up Katniss and Gale in the first chapter, but she actually belonged with Peeta.

I've also been reading a lot of books with the Fae/magical creatures in them and the main female character ends up with the "dark" option who will let her explore her full and dangerous powers. So I guess that's what I thought would go on here. I guess we'll see?
