Upon shuffling through my thoughts during a sleepless night I came to a realization about what bothers me so much about antis.

The most ardent and hardcore antis only like to protect people (fictional characters) who can't speak and can't disagree with the way they treat them.

If you're a real person ,even a minor, who does something they don't like or critcizes their logic, they'll brand you as a predator, enabler or toxic/problematic. Even as they talk about protecting victims of abuse and csa, the moment you as a victim critcize them or dare to not fit their mold of acceptable behavior , they're fine being absolutely vicious to you.

Anti-ness is the most shallow and obvious example of performative ally ship/support. The moment you're not a convienient and silent victim for them to use , you're no better than scum to them.

IMO antis are no better than, say, an extreme pro-lifer. They want an easy battle, they don't care about other people, they only care about themselves and a way for everyone to pat them on the back and tell them what fucking heroes they are for being on their crusade. They're cowards and assholes and narcissists and can't deal with the shades of gray between the black and the white because that would involve stopping and thinking. It's just easier to cancel you than take a good long hard look at themselves and their purpose, to readjust their path or make sure their intentions are pure.

Fuck antis.

(Ha, sorry for getting echo chamber-y for a bit. People who refuse to see how badly they hurt others just piss me off.)

(For the record, I know a lot of antis are underaged kids. I'll give them a chance to grow out of it, but if they're still heavily that way after typical college years, then they can go fuck themselves.)

I think it's obvious by now that "antis" are far more into being bullies than having any kind of consistent ethical compass. Especially now that the "your fave is problematic" girl just did mia culpas with the NYT.
