Good for you, OP. I mean, write for yourself, but also I’m sure it’s appreciated by your readers. IMHO, a diversity of fic is generally a better thing.

This is The Untamed, isn't it?

it isn't, but i am now curious as to what the defacto top/bottom situation is there, though i can hazard a very good guess.

Lan Wangji = top
Wei Wuxian = bottom

It's canon in the novel, so that probably makes a big difference.

Oh, you don't write the fandom fave bottoming do you? xD

I've been there, even made myself write the top!A/bottom!B fic everyone liked because I thought I wanted the attention I'd get for it, but ended up hating all the fic I produced instead and resented the time I'd put into writing them. So learn from my mistake and don't change something you like to please strangers, it's never any fun or worth it.

i do not, lol.

ngl i considered doing that at one point, but realized i'd probably be unhappy about it and just stuck to writing what i liked best. i get less numbers but whatever y'know? at least the attention i get is for fic i've enjoyed writing.

as a fic reader who, in my own fandom, has a bottoming preference so uncommon that there are next to no fics featuring it...you're doing the lord's work, OP. i'm sure your readers are more appreciative than you know, even if there's only a handful of them.

keep writing for you! fandom needs diversity or else we'd all starve

thank you nonnie, it's silly to say that comments like this help make me feel happier about it, but they do. it knocks into my head that anyone who kudos'/comments is appreciative of my efforts, i just need a reminder sometimes, lol. 😊

Have nothing of substance to add, just love the photo used for the secret so much. Cute, cute, cute.

Very same, OP. I don't know if there's a word for this (maybe just being contrarian) but I ALWAYS prefer the less "obvious" position preference in my fics. In my current fandom, I've been asked three or so times if I will ever write X bottoming, and I used to tip-toe around it but... now I just say "No, there is much more content of Bottom X and it doesn't really match my characterization." Why should I write something I don't prefer, especially when that thing is literally 95% of all fic anyway? Why should the person doing something different have to "throw a bone" to the majority?
