Thing is, we're all at different stages in our lives. While I'm not a parent, I am middle-aged. I like the full family drama that the show is trying to do. It appeals to *me*. (I'm also really proud of Tyler to be in a decent show instead of being the character punching bag that Derek was on Teen Wolf.)

I think, too, that the brothers are quite good. Jonathan gets to be the emotionally intelligent brother, and it's a thankless job. He looks out for Jordan, and even when his day is crap, he's still an awesome brother. I liked seeing that on screen because loving someone, even a sibling, is complicated.

So... if you don't like it, don't worry. There's plenty of other stuff to watch. I'll enjoy it while it lasts, though.

I can see your point, though I do not mind it as much as you do, OP. And that's cool; not everyone's going to like the same things.

One thing I feel the show gets absolutely right, in my opinion, is that it focuses on Clark and Lois as a team. For all of Clark's powers, the best results come from working with his partner as a duo, recognizing each other's strengths and their own weak points, and supporting each other.

I was afarid I would feel like you do, anon, but I'm enjoying it so far. Can't say I care much about the kids, but I love Clark&Lois as a duo. It's a pity we couldn't get them sans kids, but I'll take what I'm given.

I've been there, even made myself write the top!A/bottom!B fic everyone liked because I thought I wanted the attention I'd get for it, but ended up hating all the fic I produced instead and resented the time I'd put into writing them. So learn from my mistake and don't change something you like to please strangers, it's never any fun or worth it.

as a fic reader who, in my own fandom, has a bottoming preference so uncommon that there are next to no fics featuring it...you're doing the lord's work, OP. i'm sure your readers are more appreciative than you know, even if there's only a handful of them.

Do you mean where they've tagged all the individual pairings, but not the OT3 itself? Because otherwise, couldn't you just exclude anything tagged B/C?

(I've always been confused by people who like OT3s but only two legs of the triangle. I know it's a whole type of polyamorous relationship, but I just find it weird to like an OT3 when you actively hate one side of the trio together)

I keep trying to watch Nailed It and every time I just can’t.

When I want a baking show where everyone is having a good time, I watch GBBO celebrity episodes. There’s more actual funniness, less random shouting, no unreasonably high expectations, and sometimes people are surprisingly competent and justifiably proud.
