(Anonymous) 2021-04-08 12:18 am (UTC)(link)I'm enjoying it, though it is a family drama as much as a superhero show. It's about the relationship between Lois and Clark as a couple, between them and their kids, between the twins as siblings, and even between the family members and some of the Smallville townspeople. There are two slowly developing threads that are more superhero-ish, an enemy with a grudge against Kal-El, and a billionaire that has a nefarious plan creating superpowered beings.
I watch several of the CW Arrowverse shows, and I gotta admit, watching Barry Allen have histrionics about how he had to save the city and he couldn't do it and yada yada...Lois and Clark behaving like adults and trying to be good parents and having reasonable discussions with their kids, it's a very welcome change to me. Even the slowly developing superhero plots feel more realistic; Superman does use his powers for some reason every episode, but this isn't a 'defeat the bad guy of the week' show. I'm definitely two thumbs up and enjoying it. I was pleased to hear it's already been renewed for next season.
