I love Legion. It's one of those movies that lots of people hate, but I can watch over and over. I'm a total sucker for Angels being badasses.

But it seems to me like the haters are mainly people who aren't into the subject matter anyway? I mean, I think it's a well-made film.

I agree. A lot of people just aren't interested in stories that have any kind of religious connection. Personally I'm crazy about things that have weird Biblical connections. Perhaps because I grew up Southern Baptist and I'm SO familiar with the Bible. (Back in the days of my childhood we practically memorized the sucker.) So it rocks my world to play with that.

My main problem with Legion was that I wanted it to be more about Michael than it was.

I can understand that. Honestly it was one of those movies to me where I feel like if they had given it another hour or so they could have fleshed out more, especially Michael's past/future.

I would say people with no taste but as someone who loves scoping out B horror movies they just say I'm immune to bad movies lol.

You are not alone, OP! Legion is great! Angels SHOULD be badass and terrifying, and the movie gets super bonus points for genuinely creepy divine presences to accompany the genuinely freaky demon activity. (Though yeah, would still have benefitted from more Paul Bettany-as-Michael.)

Also, holy FUCK, are you right about Michael having chemistry with everyone. I remember thinking that multiple times during the movie, and then we got the scene with Gabriel, and just WOW.

Paul Bettany has been in some bad movies and he's been in a fair amount of good, but underrated ones. He has been good to great in every role I've seen him in, however bad or good the movie was for me. I never watched Legion because the plotline just wasn't for me, but I am not surprised about him having chemistry with everyone. My favorite underrated movie of his is Wimbledon.

I love this movie & Paul Bettany in it is very very tasty. So you're not alone. I'm also the kind of person who genuinely enjoyed Jupiter Ascending (no, it's not some masterpiece but it's fun and it had everything i like!) And thought John of Mars had potential it didn't quite reach. Coulda been amazing. But it was alright.

Jupiter Ascending has a substantial fandom (and I'm pretty sure it's only partially overlap with Wachowski die-hards)

Oh, i wasnt aware of this! I never scoped out fandom spaces for it -- this is just amongst friends/acquaintances. I just really enjoy this & movies like Legion as well.
