Never read the books, but I tried to watch the show because the movie was fun and goddamn is Godfrey Gao hot as fuck. Only problem to me was... NO ONE in that TV show could act. It was just... horrifying to be honest.

I think for me because everyone was kind of flat it ended up cancelling-out in a weird way? Like I think if you put any of those actors up beside... well good actors, their flaws will stand out much more obviously and you can tell how bad they are, but shove them in a room with other iffy actors and it becomes like bad-acting white noise?

Lmao, that's the best way I can think to describe how I watch shows like these and still enjoy them, but then I'm also not there for Noteworthy Performances.

yeah no one on that show was what i'd call good, but it was just another show in a long line of shows that tumblr was into that was pretty iffy quality wise. i think ppl just like enjoyable trash, and i am one of those ppl.

I love Legion. It's one of those movies that lots of people hate, but I can watch over and over. I'm a total sucker for Angels being badasses.

You are not alone, OP! Legion is great! Angels SHOULD be badass and terrifying, and the movie gets super bonus points for genuinely creepy divine presences to accompany the genuinely freaky demon activity. (Though yeah, would still have benefitted from more Paul Bettany-as-Michael.)

Paul Bettany has been in some bad movies and he's been in a fair amount of good, but underrated ones. He has been good to great in every role I've seen him in, however bad or good the movie was for me. I never watched Legion because the plotline just wasn't for me, but I am not surprised about him having chemistry with everyone. My favorite underrated movie of his is Wimbledon.

I too desperately want to see the twins wrestle with daddy issues, especially since with the time they spent on the First they haven't seen him for, like, at least a few years. He's going to probably think they're still little shits, and we love them to death and Will Not Have It.

Disney question

My sister and I have been trying to work something out. We both grew up watching Disney films, but now my sister is trying to make a judgement call as to whether to let my niece watch them or not. At first glance we were both pretty against the idea because of things like the girls being super skinny and the gender dynamics. But on second thought it doesn't seem to be that clear cut. In Beauty and the Beast, for instance, Gaston is the perfect embodiment of toxic masculinity which is a powerful lesson. And Mulan and Shang are a romance between equals imo.

What do you think, ladies of FS? In the interest of the next generation of girls, Disney or no? Would really love to hear people's opinions on this.

(I'm afraid I have to drop this thread then disappear off to bed, so sorry for no answers for the next X hours or so.)
