I didn't know Royal Doulton was expensive. I sort of grew up believing it was like... the 'generic' every-person's "fancy" china lol. Probably because I grew up with parents who took me antiquing and who have a whole collection of Shelley and Foley china, some of which cost me over $100 for one cup/saucer and nearly as much for a pitcher in Dainty Blue for my mom one birthday.

That's what I thought, but then someone above mentioned it was expensive to buy? I have confusion~.

It's expensive or difficult to get full sets. It's not hard or very expensive to get a few bits and pieces. A neighbour of mine has eight full sets - she inherited one set from her grandmother and assembled the rest over 50 years of antique shops and garage sales.

lol I'm the same, I grew up about 3 miles from the factory so literally everyone I knew had a full 3 sets of seconds.
