Re: What was cool when you were young but isn’t cool now?

AYRT - I forgot those but I like Elton John and Rod Stewart a lot too! I found myself listening to Santana yesterday, and if we're talking "rock" in a broad sense I still listen regularly to Carpenters, Al Stewart, Kate Bush, Culture Club, James Taylor etc. On the other hand I never liked harder 70s rock bands my cousins did like Aerosmith, Kiss or Black Sabbath, but I can't deny they're cool.

But would anyone dare say Queen isn't "rock" or "cool" or "70s" by definition? So, yeah, anon... there are plenty. Sorry.

Noooo their first album came out in 1973. Bohemian Rhapsody was 1975, on their fourth album. Most of their most iconic songs were 70s.

(AYRT - I came here to correct myself because I started wondering if Culture Club was really 70s and not early 80s and turns out they ARE early 80s, whoops...)

Yeah, they blew up in the late 70s but they were very much active and struggling in the 70s AFAIK.
