Wait, how you can use them "correctly"? There's more to drug usage than that, you know. Not a lot of people can moderate drugs, very few actually.

What are you basing this claim on?

Personal experience, then. I'd rather tell people that they CAN'T do drugs and not watch them go down the pits. I mean, even if they can do a bit without any big harm, it's better that they don't do any at all than risk it, I figure.

Different anon, by the way, just wanted to get my two cents in as I've seen far too many people doing "a bit" begin to do "a lot".

I know a lot of people who have tried different drugs without affecting their health or getting addicted. For starters, stuff like LSD or psylocibin is not addictive. And marijuana is addictive kind of like how fast food is addictive. I know a lot of people who are upstanding citizens with jobs who pay rent that you would never suspect had ever tripped before, but they have.

I know some people have a problem with drugs, but some people have a problem with caffeine, or beer, or smoking cigarettes, or just eating too much junk food, or having too much sex. I think that's more of a mental incapacity than anything else.

And while I can understand where you're coming from, I don't think it's wise to tell other people to never choose something for themselves. For thing, I don't feel like it's my place to tell others what to do with their bodies, and second of all, it usually has the opposite effect (reverse psychology, kind of).

Okay, I can accept that people have done drugs without it seriously harming them--many people, I can believe that, but in general, it's better to go without than abuse it, you know? Marijuana, I know plenty people who do and have done it, but sometimes you go down a deep deep hole and it goes down the route of say heroin or crack and then you're fucked.

All I'm saying that yeah, you don't have to say that you CAN'T try it. But don't go around saying that it's not harmful, because it is. Maybe I just live in a bad area, but I know a father who has thrown his daughter on the street because of that shit and plenty of other things. I just don't want anybody thinking, "It's just a little, so it's OKAY. After all, I'm not a dumbfuck who listens to drug campaigns," because it's better safe than sorry. It doesn't just affect you, it affects the people around you. Am I wrong for saying DON'T DON'T DON'T because it's their body and their right? Maybe. And I can accept that, but I'm still going to say it's wrong anyways. I know I've helped a couple people by saying "no" after they took it a step too far, and hey, if it works for a couple, why not more?

Well, I did say "most drugs". I do believe crack, cocaine and herion are drugs that should definitely be avoided. But most people who smoke marijuana aren't going to drift to those other drugs.

Except that, just like everything else you put into your body, drugs do impact your body. All those drugs that cause you to experience "altered states" -- ie, ones that directly effect your brain? Are direct effecting you gd brain. I'm pretty sure most people can see where this is probably not a good thing.

And yes, this is coming from someone who thinks that the "war on drugs" is stupid and harmful, and that marijuana is probably far less harmful than tobacco or alcohol in the long run. Probably far less addictive, too. 'Course, I'm also wondering where you get your information from, if you're honestly sitting there saying "MOST DRUGS ARE OKIE-DOKEY!" Not all the information coming out of scientific studies showing how bad drug use is, is part of some giant anti-drug conspiracy.

Caffeine alters your brain. So does food. I don't get why it's wrong to do certain drugs just because they "alter your brain". Everything you put into your body alters your brain. As long as you aren't abusing a drug or using a drug constantly I don't see how you can really harm yourself that much. Yeah, if you do ecstacy at parties every weekend, that will harm your brain. If you're constantly taking psychedelic drugs, like more than once a month, that will definitely harm your brain. Doing mushrooms once or twice a year likely won't likely have any lasting effect on your brain. (I say "likely" because everybody's body is different, but it won't affect most healthy individuals in the long term.)
