But that's exactly what proshippers say is hypocritical. Anything is fine, as long as it isn't made into a kink. Kink is what makes people lose their morality and start copying fiction, that's the anti position. Antis also insist the difference is that violence isn't portrayed positively unlike kink, which is patently hilariously untrue, and it takes a lot of hypocrisy not to realize how "heroic" characters are portrayed as unambiguously good while committing violence in mainstream media.

I don't think enjoying killing fictional people in a nonsexual way is any morally better (or worse) than enjoying it in a sexual way. You're still enjoying the idea of killing fictional people and glorifying it! The idea that it's only sexual enjoyment, or kink, that makes it irredeemable is so transparently stupid on the surface that only in a deeply puritanical culture would it get any traction at all.
