What are some of your favorite pieces of lesbian media (film, shows, books, comics, et cetera) and/or what are some of your favorite F/F ships?

Still love listening to t.A.t.U - Even though they stated to not actually be gay; way back when they were first releasing music I was absolutely living for their music when I was figuring myself out. Also remember being obsessed with the show Sugar Rush which was my first ever wlw show to watch (Although its been well over 10 years since I last watched it and I have no idea if it has aged well. I was considering reading the book the show was based on, but a lot of the reviews on it didn't seem great and I was a bit put off).

As for ships - my first ever ship was Tomo/Yomi from Azumanga Daioh!

My other favorites: Ino/Sakura (Naruto), Uhura/Gaila (Star Trek AOS), Kira/Dax (Star Trek DS9), Mitsato/Ritsuka (NGE) and Ginny/Luna (Harry Potter).

Just saying - glad I'm not the only who still listens to tAtU.

I still jam to them regularly and "sacrifice" is the only song i can play on guitar (the opening riff anyway lol)

It's really interesting to me how "All the Things She Said" has become a new "standard."

Well

I Can't Think Straight is an extremely cheesy movie that I have seen probably 80 times.

Carmilla is a webseries based on the book of the same name, about a girl who falls in love with a lady vampire. The first season follows the book but sets it in a modern college and adds an additional horror movie plot, the following seasons are original plotlines. It's also pretty cheesy and I also love it a lot.

Spider Lillies is a Taiwanese movie about a tattoo artist and a webcam girl.

Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same is the best movie ever made.

But I'm a Cheerleader is required viewing, I'm pretty sure.

Gentleman Jack is an HBO/PBS show about Anne Lister, real life lesbian who put the details of her relationships in a coded diary. The show details her meeting, seducing, and falling desperately in love with Ann Walker. Note: Idk if there will be more seasons, but since these are historical figures, they die eventually. But the show definitely has the tone of a romance.

Ahhhh Carmilla fandom..... ~~~memories~~~

I'm still so obsessed with the Carmilla webseries all these years later! It's become almost a comfort show that I'll watch whenever I need a pick me up.

And But I'm a Cheerleader is so good!!

I haven't seen Go Fish in years, it was great!

D.E.B.S is delightful and required viewing imo.

I also want to mention Gideon The Ninth, A Memory Called Empire (STRONGLY recommend (I recommend Gid the 9th too but I think more people have read that)), Sleater Kinney, and the Indigo Girls live cover of Tangled Up In Blue

Uhh... Honestly too many to remember right now? I haven't actively looked for W/W content in a while because most of it is shamefully and very subtly mysogynistic and I hate how critical people are NOT so.

From the top of my dumb head, for manga/anime, I really like works by Nanae Haruno and, also, Aoi Hana, Sasameki Koto, Yagate Kimi ni Naru (nowhere as much love as the aforementioned names, but still OK!) etc. Also I like Utena but as a yuri story... Idk? Great symbolism, relationships sucked though. Also, honorable mention to Hamefura? More recently I liked what I read of 2DK GPen Mezamashi Tokei and some stuff by Kayako - the least weird...

For ships, NozoEli and Hanayo/Rin quickly came to mind which is... funny? Nope. Then Lana/Mia (thanks for nothing pwkm). Then, Nana/Hachi (a blessing). Honey & Clover and Samurai Flamenco are in the back of my mind as well. Then Again, I swear I had a W/W ship in Love Hina at some point so go figure my inner workings. I can't remember now, honestly. AerTi was/is great, but I love Aerith and ship her with literally everybody. What can I say? Pretty sure I had bigger and better W/W ships but... Well memory is failing me now.

Lately I've been thinking about this theory that goes "Haruhi Fujioka is a sapphic ace" and I find it... amusing. Cool. Nice. Didn't read anything yet but I can see it and I want to.

(At this point I literally went to pick one Yurihime to remember the name of that promising author whose art I liked and had to face my K-On haven. I want to say that but with the important disclaimer of "no I never read fic or searched for art".)

Saying "Are you me?" has become a tad cliche, so I'll just say that you're my hero!

Canon stuff count? I don't typically ship f/f but I was impressed by Undyne/Alphys from Undertale. Despite Alphys' issues and Undyne's occasional recklessness, this was one of the healthier relationships I'd seen depicted in media in recent years, f/f, m/f, m/m or otherwise.
