One of the things I loved most about the Ant-Man movies was that the stakes were comparatively small scale: trying to prevent technology from falling into the hands of people who would use it for harm, and people trying to protect their loved ones. Not everything needs to be about the fate of the universe; sometimes the hero trying to make his corner of the world a bit better place to live is enough.

(I have a phobia of ants and I still loved Ant-Man. I wish there was more fic.)
