American here, never been to GB. Is the NHS really bad, or is it just not set up/ too deficient for your specific problems?

In my case it's more specifically to do with having long-term mental health problems and just having a shit unhelpful time with every interaction.

In terms of physical health the NHS have been a godsend - they saved my Dad's life from prostate cancer and removing benign tumors from his spine that could have crippled him if left untreated. Mental health problems are usually treated like a drain on the funding for the NHS and not that serious compared to having obvious physical problems.
