Tumblr is still the main platform I use, but I do honestly feel like my relationship to it is weird now. My fandom is absolutely brimming with drama and wank, but most of it is now contained to Twitter and Discord, and you really hear more about the echoes of the drama than witnessing it firsthand. However, there's also way less art and original content to enjoy, because it seems most people-- at least those who are perhaps younger and more actively making art right now-- are on Twitter and Instagram and get the engagement they seek there, so very few in my fandom crosspost to Tumblr at all. I do resent that there isn't a hub for everyone anymore that suits the writers, artists, meta theorizers or joke bloggers, historians etc etc, which is what Tumblr used to be, but without so much drama. I do think the drama sitewide has lessened like you say, but I also think I stepped into a really explosive fandom so I can't say I'm finding the experience of fandom 'calmer' exactly.
