Hell yes! It's not that I'm sorry to see them incorporated into Shadow and Bone... it livens up that universe and storyline, IMO. It's just that there isn't time in the adaptation to do them justice.

Well, it's a question of etiquette and norms, isn't it? There are a lot of people who think that the social norms with regard to fanfiction should be that critical commentary should be kept to a minimum regardless of whether or not it's deserved.

If you think the norm should instead be that negative criticism should be more acceptable, OK, fine, that's a position you can take. But the way that this secret is written, it sounds like you think people whose feelings are hurt by negative critique are doing something wrong, that they're being overly precious. And I don't think that's true - I think it's a reasonable reaction under the circumstances.

I am very much a casual watcher who only started with the current season and let me tell you -- the whole April gets her boyfriend (?) to cover up her brother's wrongdoing hit me hard and wrong. The only consequence - the brother had to leave the hospital (without the reason being for his wrongdoing) and a cooling off of April and Choi's relationship. Like WTH.
