Nah, Sherlock Holmes is on his, what, thirtieth adaptation? He's fair game at this point. In fact, if someone is going to adapt Sherlock Holmes at this point, I active want there to be significant deviations from ACD source. Because otherwise, why are we doing it again for the thirtieth time?

Because there has never been an actually faithful adaption? And sorry, just not a fan of adaptions that deviate too much. The characters and the main themes at least need to be the same for me to consider it a good adaption. Little plot changes are fine, but with big changes it stops being a good adaption and I don't know why they bothered and didn't just make an original thing.
