Totally agree. And it's not just the backstage machinations, I love watching wrestlers cut good promos and stuff like that, it's such a cool skill and some wrestlers are so amazing at it. it's just the actual wrestling.... I don't care. They're just running around in a ring.

I can relate to this some. I don't follow wresting as a sport at all, but last year I started checking out that "Dark Side of the Ring" series and it's fascinating. So many wild stories in that world.

You should go to vicetv.com and watch Dark Side of the Ring.

You would enjoy the show, 'Dark Side of the Ring'. It goes behind the secenes on wrestlers, going into details about ones who actually have dark pasts, and yes, The Montreal Screw Job was an episode. That entire family got fucked over by Vince, in one way or another, and still do to this day.

Haha thank you for the giggle anon. I know I sound like a bitter medievalist a lot when it comes to the Tudors, but Henry VIII is literally only as famous as he is because of how many wives he had and I'll die on that hill. Yes, I know his break with the church is considered a pivotal moment in English history but even that gets misrepresented in popular narratives.

For it not really being my main era, I've always found Elizabeth more worth my time compared to him.

I had no idea there were people who actually likes Henry - I grew up in London and had to learn about him at school because the school was suppose to have been one of his hunting grounds, which I guess was the teacher's way of trying to get students interested - but I just remember everyone in class agreeing that he was a horny git.

Liked some of the episodes of him in the original Horrible Histories series, so that's my one positive say in it.

I like both ships quite a bit, actually. And I could get behind a threesome as well. But honestly, I think the popularity levels would have remained similar even if Boseman hadn't died. People like shipping villains and heroes together, especially when the villain has a tragic backstory so they can woobify him.

I read an *excellent* Bucky/M'Baku fic. That wasn't the 'end' pairing (still Steve/Bucky), but it was really interesting and well done and made me like M'Baku a lot.

Agreed. Sometimes I have to grit my teeth really hard and try not to imagine grabbing the writer by the shoulders and demanding to know if they've ever read a professionally published novel in their LIFE, since they seem totally unaware of the BASIC errors they're making. It's getting really tiring.

The first line of the book says that he's 59. And 99% of the people who've read this book missed it. They think he's 70, if not 80.

And that's partly why this book is garbage. If you would read it remembering that he's only late middle age, it's a lot less cute that he doesn't know how to use electronic devices and other "cute" things you can excuse an old person for doing.

They are horribly problematic especially a couple months ago with some nasty ableism when it comes to chronic pain and the fandom is toxic but I would NEVER say they are well researched on their stories. That is why they pay the big bucks. They don't do the research themselves. They pay someone to do the majority of it. I tend to skip the "chat" and just listen to the stories if they are something I am interested in.

As for the ableism, a few months back they were pushing a pseudo-science podcast that believes that ALL chronic physical pain is psychological and should be treated that way. I am sure that is true for a few people but I am disabled and I wish I therapy could cure me or anything could cure me. I have tried and continue to try every treatment no matter how painful to just get a little relief. But Georgia was fucking in love with this podcaster and was indorsing her nonsense like it was the holy gospel. It made me realize how much the two comedians give out psych help or advice. And after seeing a post on a message board where someone said it "triggers" her if someone says anything negative about them and over a hundred people agreeing. Like WTF? it is a cult.

What characters’ ages have surprised you? How do you feel about it? I’m irrationally angry that Hamlet has to be at least 26-27 (if he’s telling the truth about how he remembers Yorick, who died 23 years ago) when it doesn’t make sense for him to be older than 18-20.
