Honestly, I think we're less aggressive now and by aggressive I mean physically. Back then threat letters were a thing and I found that slightly worse than emailing or sending twitter messages, because the internet is more "don't like it, close it" still even though there ARE plenty of efforts for things to... not be like this anymore. Back then if you had a crush on someone online you were expected to phone call or meet them, and they could turn out to be a criminal yeah, but for teens of nowadays voice chatting and nude pictures seem to suffice and I dare say that the police is more used and thus got better at investigating cyber crimes. Violence tends to be psychological not physical. Of course we have things like revenge porn but I guess I enjoy the lack of a physical dimension for safetys sake. To put it better, I enjoy how the lack of a physical dimension makes us safer now but that's not to say I'm sure its setbacks are "worth it".

Having said all of this... sure, back then the internet was a bit like "nobody's land" and the raw creative power that steemed from that was interesting. People were very creative and it was easier to express oneself when we didn't think of how different everything could be in 2 years ... But IDK if I miss it for real. Yeah, I'm very nostalgic for the "simpler web" and sometimes complain about the changes too, but I like seeing teens of nowadays online advocating for social rights. I guess it gives me hope, huh.
