Looking back at the series, I feel like nowadays Daxter would be the kind of character who'd bug me, but hey, whatever works for you, anon. And kudos for Jak and Daxter secret!

I would kill for a reboot of this series, but - and I'm not sure how unpopular a take this is - I'd like it with the Dark and Edgy. My dream is somewhere in-between the mature, deeper storytelling from Jak II onwards with the whimsy and colorfulness of the first one. I think The Lost Frontier was the closest to achieving that, even if the game itself was not good.

I'd like it withOUT* the Dark and Edgy, I mean.

Pretty much what everyone else said. Tony was fine with the Accords until they applied to him, and then he ignored them and did what he wanted.

Ross is a steaming pile of crap, and if he's the government rep for this, I immediately distrust it. At least Steve read the Accords, because I don't think Tony did.

As mentioned, all those incidents were not the Avengers' fault. NYC and the helicarriers were the government, Lago was Wanda trying to help, and Sokovia? That was Tony.

The Tony stans irk me mightily, because they won't see reason about this mess.

It doesn't actually care. It doesn't have the capacity to.

The only actual decision that seems unilaterally made about other people in Civil War is being cagey about keeping Wanda on the compound, which frankly is definitely something he should have told her, but was not in fact unilateral unless Vision isn't considered a person.

Let's keep Tony to his actual faults, aka bringing a child into an international conflict.

I mean, Vision couldn't exactly /stop/ being tech, though.

And then Tony after making his argument brings in a toddler with built-in powers.

i always thought tony was the weirdest character to affix this stance to, yeah the movie tries to go with the guilt angle over sokovia, but in every movie tony's appeared in his entire thing is doing whatever the hell he wants despite what others say, including this one! so having him be the mouthpiece for the accords was such a bizarre choice.

but then this plot point was muddled from the start and just a flimsy excuse to get superheros to punch one another.

pumpkin, apple, coconut, chocolate, butterscotch, lemon, banana, pecan
I probably forgot some.

No. Steve and Wanda can't just decide not to be enhanced. Bruce can't just wish the Hulk away. Thor can't just decide to not be Asgardian. It was more than just Steve and Wanda, and even if it were only them, it was pretty shitty of Tony to decide he spoke for people who stood to lose a LOT more than he did.

Your animal knows you were having a dream, and was okay with being a sort of outlet for you, in that you didn't hit another person, yourself, or like - the wall, and hurt yourself.

Some extra snuggles and you're all good.

(Anonymous) 2021-05-17 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
You're right and you should say it.

Why you can't believe this, OP? Have you read their POV and posts?
I mean I'm firmly Team!IM and I can still see why someone might be Team!CA.

Agreed on all of this, except the choice to refer to Peter as a child. He was, however, young enough that recruiting him for a superhero dust up in another freaking country was very much not ethically copacetic.

*shrugs* You and I have substantially different ways of construing the same content.

He was, legally and literally, a child.

Re: Who are some of your favorite Himbos and Bimbos in media?

[personal profile] philstar22 2021-05-17 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Johnny Bravo. Kronk. Kevin from Ghostbusters. Maui from Moana. Animated Disney Hercules.

Thor, in spite of him being listed as an example on a bunch of lists for some reason, is not a himbo. He's too intelligent to fit the archetype. And someone actually listed Sokka, who is the strategist of the group. WTF?

Honestly don't know that many himbo characters. Lots of hot men, lots of kind men, but the lack of intelligence element is usually missing.

Everyone should be particular about pie

Well, you're definitely an American.

This thread is running light on the bimbos, so I'm throwing Inga from Young Frankenstein and Ulla from The Producers into the mix.

Peach mango, but I haven't made one in years and right now I don't have a working oven.

Also there's a savory vegetable pie recipe I got from a kid's vegetarian cookbook that's pretty great especially after I tweaked it (I don't mind the taste of mushrooms but the texture is like biting into an ear.)

(Anonymous) 2021-05-17 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Thor and Bruce weren't there, but regardless, I agree.
