ER: the patient in the back is having a psychotic break and got a hold of a butcher knife some idiot brought in to cut a birthday cake. He stabs 2 of his doctors, 1 dies.

Ooooooof. I haven't seen that scene since it aired and damn. Yeah. It was shocking. I'd been really shipping Lucy/Carter(?) until then so was extra blown away. ER was so good.

This was ER at it's peak imho, and that storyline stuck with me for years. Watched it again recently as well (the whole series), and that scene was definitely still shocking.
