The answer is yes, people are much less offended by sexual violence (or violence in general) directed towards men.

It's a matter of how one personally views the material - is it sexist, fetishistic, or both? Some men and women fantasize about the first mentioned route in the game while some men and women will be offended by it; some men and women fantasize about the other route while some men and women will be offended. When it comes to kink, it's ultimately a gray area because different people will feel wildly different about it.

Now, in regards to why more people are offended by the first over the second: more people are likely to witness a woman being severely harmed physically by a man than the reverse in real life. Because of this, more people will be alarmed by the portrayal of one over the other in fiction - because it hits closer to home. This is also the double edged sword of society believing that men are inherently stronger than women; on the chance that they are not stronger, men that are overpowered by women risk being made fun of and are not listened to when seeking help.

Yes, people who hate graphic rape scenes are not going to stick around to read/watch more graphic rape scenes. How is this even a mystery to you?

Honestly the two anons above me are fucking idiots so you know what I take it back apparently it *is* a difficult concept to puzzle out.

Rude and unnecessary.

You are the fucking idiot if you honestly think that people would have dropped this just as quickly if the male rape scene (especially the female on male one) had come first. In the latter case, a certain number would even have celebrated the scene and started stanning the female character. Don't be so fucking naive.
