It's a matter of how one personally views the material - is it sexist, fetishistic, or both? Some men and women fantasize about the first mentioned route in the game while some men and women will be offended by it; some men and women fantasize about the other route while some men and women will be offended. When it comes to kink, it's ultimately a gray area because different people will feel wildly different about it.

Now, in regards to why more people are offended by the first over the second: more people are likely to witness a woman being severely harmed physically by a man than the reverse in real life. Because of this, more people will be alarmed by the portrayal of one over the other in fiction - because it hits closer to home. This is also the double edged sword of society believing that men are inherently stronger than women; on the chance that they are not stronger, men that are overpowered by women risk being made fun of and are not listened to when seeking help.
