Honestly as someone who's commented a couple times in this thread, I had no issues with OP's secret. It was a simple, "Damn it was nice, I am sad." it's the people who were derailing this into a conversation about 'representation' (which is a super weird way to talk about a real life relationship) that some of us had issues with.

Yeah and those people are being assholes. OP didn't say anything about being owed representation, people in fandom are just cynically programmed to think anyone expressing feelings over seeing someone like them is being all MUH REPRESENTATION even when they're not.

DA - yes, I agree with this. Even in the "real world outside of fandom", many people take special interest in celebrities who share similar characteristics or backgrounds, especially if they are relatively rare to see, and so get sad when sad things happen to them. Fandom wank around the ideas of ~representation don't apply here.
