Yessss, Tony's an arrogant asshole whose primary role in the overall arc is to make messes for other people to clean up. This about 80% of why I hated so much of MCU for years. I did start appreciating Tony after reading some fanfic of him and seeing writers pull out his insecure, self-deprecatory, nurturing qualities. The movies didn't do a good job of that.

I ship/stan plenty of other asshole characters, though. Go figure.
